Making 10

We've been working on ways to make 10. I bought 2 ice cream sets  and put a number on the top of each scoop. The cone says 10 on it. The students needed to come up with different scoop combinations
that equal 10. This little friend of mine came up with a 3 adden cone to make 10. 

Simple but oh so fun. I usually have them record their addition sentences as they make them. Today we had a few minutes to kill before we got ready to go home so I just let them have at it.
